Dressed for Success

I've been out for most of today, and I came home to find Oreo in a dashing raincoat. I'm usually not a fan of puppies in clothes, but he's so darn cute. My cousin put it on him because he's been outside. Why? Believe it or not, but it rained in San Diego! Outrageous. Probably as outrageous as my week. It seems so fitting. Well, despite the unfavorable conditions, Oreo and I will be ready for whatever comes at us.
Tomorrow is a new day, and it's also a new week.

Oh, and I apologize for the poor quality photos. I took it with my new iPhone! :P

At first it was just a suspicion, but now I am pretty confident that Oreo hates kids. Oreo and I have been on a few walks lately so I have a fairly good idea. The teens and the adults go by unnoticed, but the little people get his attention regardless of his surrounding. I feel so bad since the kids will probably be traumatized for life, but what can I do?

Oh, so sorry for the long hiatus. It's been busy.

Quick Update

What with traveling to D.C. and the bay area, starting a new job, and graduating from college all within the same month, it's been a little hectic. It'll continue to be hectic for the next few weeks. Oreo and I are moving down the street into a bigger and better house. It'll be farther from work for me, but it'll be worth it because the backyard is twice as big as the current one, and there'll be another dog in the house so Oreo will have a buddy.

And since I'll be working full time, Oreo will spend the majority of his time with his buddy in the backyard. I decided to splurge a little bit and I got this for him so he won't have to be in the sun:

I wonder if I can paint it? Oh, I am also getting Oreo a new collar and leash. I'm thinking.... purple? or something bright that will nicely contrast with his black coat.

and here's a picture of oreo:

Can't Take My Eyes Off of You

Who can resist my puppy? He's a hot mess.

After his haircut (which costs more than mine), he's even more irresistible.

Shaking It

A typical Wednesday:

"Oreo, shake my balls."

Oreo shakes his balls.

"Good boy!"

Yes, my roommate was drunk, and the trick is only a variation of "shake hands" which Oreo has already mastered.

Oreo Loves (to my dismay):
  1. the stolen purple pens from UCSD Women's Center, sharpies, and just basically pens/pencils
  2. water bottles
  3. underwear
  4. curious george (who is probably not curious anymore)
  5. plastic bags
  6. paper towels

Doing It Like They Do on the Discovery Channel

He kept his distance at first, but he got a little too friendly. And I don't know why I have a pad sitting on my bedroom floor... or why I was listening to Immortal Technique.

The past few days have been a little hectic. I took Oreo home with me for spring break last week, and I'm pretty sure Oreo's weeks of training went down the drain. I was busy so my parents and little sister watched him for me. They definitely spoiled him, and now I'll have to start over with the training. Reminds me of when I got him in February.

My sisters bought Oreo down to San Diego when they visited for President's Day weekend. Since I was busy, they watched Oreo for me and took him to the beach while I ran errands. He was so small and clean. Now he's so big and dirty. I can't wait for him to finish his vaccinations so that I can take him to the groomers. He desperately needs a haircut.

Here's a picture of us at the park near my house. You can usually find us here in the early mornings and/or late evenings.

This is pretty random, but do I look pregnant? I think I look pregnant. Ew. I guess it's time to start working out.

And that's all for now because I've lost the usb wire so I can't transfer my pictures from my camera to my laptop.

Proudest Moment Ever

I'm currently at work, and Oreo is at home w my little sister. She tells me that Oreo is in his crate. He willingly went in there by himself! My puppy is finally crate trained!!!!!

Study Break

I fell asleep on my stomach at my cousin's house, and since Oreo couldn't sleep with me, he decided to lay (or is it lie?, I wish I knew English) on top of me. I don't think I noticed him.

It's finals week, and I have really bad allergies, so I haven't been able to take Oreo out on his regular walks as often as I'd like to. But I did take him to the dog park yesterday since it was such a nice day and I didn't want to study. I was hoping that he'd tire himself out so I could study in peace, but that didn't work. Here are some more pictures (because I am one of THOSE people).

He had the dog treat in his mouth for the entire walk to the dog park and just forgot it there when he saw the other dogs.

He hides between my legs when he's nervous or afraid. He finally got over it and started socializing.

Oreo just did circles around this big fellow. I think he wanted to play, but the dog didn't pay Oreo any attention. He was too busy with Oreo's toy.

Thievery Corporation

We'd make a good team, and I'd finally be able to buy nice things.

Stealing Vincent's wallet:

Stealing from his snack bag:

and I don't have pictures of him stealing my wallet from my purse. Or my undies and socks from my laundry basket.

You Can't Always be the Little Spoon

Because of my size (and probably gender), I'm usually the little spoon. I'm rarely (voluntarily) the big spoon, and if I had a choice, I'd always be the little spoon. But it's nice to want, because now I end up spooning Oreo. So now the only thing I can wish for is someone to spoon me while I spoon Oreo.

So Fresh and So Clean

My cousin helped me give Oreo a bath on Saturday. I tried the tricks I mentioned earlier, and they kinda worked because he wasn't very bad. He's sooooo clean now. Like, CLEAN!! I even cleaned his butt hole (w the help of scissors to cut the hair that had poop on it)!! He can sleep with me anytime now. I guess I could give him baths instead of taking him to the groomers, but he did go a little crazy when we tried to dry him. And I trimmed the fur on his tail because it was too long and that looks crappy... Do I get to select the services I want from the groomers or do I have to purchase the entire package?

Superman That Ho - A New Dog Trick

Last night, Oreo and I went to bed at our usual bedtime at 11:30pm. My roommates got home at a little after 1am, and they woke both of us. Needless to say, Oreo was riled up and wouldn't go back to sleep. I let him out to meet my friends, and they had a blast with him. I showed them his tricks, sit and shake hands. We also played fetch for a few hours, where he learned the "superman that ho" trick. Basically, he just flies (or jumps, whatever) down our stairs to get his squeaky toy. Despite all the activities, he didn't even get tired! I decided to go to bed at 3am without him because he was too busy with my friends.

Oreo is Dirtier than X-Tina

I usually have to leave my bathroom door open when I shower because Oreo just whines and claws at the bathroom door if I don't let him in. And when he's in, he has a tendency to sit by the bathtub and stick his head in to watch me shower. I thought that it'd be a good idea to use this to my advantage. I thought we could get clean together. Since he had his stitches removed yesterday, I decided to give him a bath. On my own. BAD IDEA.

I emptied a plastic container (bc I am too cheap to buy a bucket) and filled it up with warm/cool water. I carried him into the bathtub and sat in there with him. After pouring like 3 cups of water on him, he went crazy. He wouldn't stop barking and growling at me. He really hated me, and I thought he was seriously going to bite me. He somehow managed to jump out of the tub and it was just chaotic in that bathroom. He wouldn't stop running around and rubbing himself on my bathroom rugs. He usually loves the blow dryer (I blast it in his face whenever I blow dry my hair), but this time around, he wouldn't have any of it. It was pure hell. I'd definitely pay to get him professionally groomed, and I'd tip generously too. But he hasn't gotten his rabies shot yet, so I have to try to give him another bath this weekend. He seriously stinks. I read somewhere that I should put a towel on the floor of the tub and have a little bit of peanut butter on the wall of the tub so it'd keep him occupied while I bathe him. Also, I need to buy some cotton balls so I can stick them into his ears. Hopefully it won't be so bad this time around.

Oh, maybe I need to buy something like the Paws for Thought Booster Bath from Petco. It's like 200 dollars. Maybe not. Maybe I just need a friend who is willing to help. Any takers?

Warm Body

Oreo was neutered two weeks ago, and he finally had his stitches removed today. That means he can finally have his much needed bath. THANK GOD, because he stinks!! I wouldn't mind so much if he didn't feel the need to sleep next to my face, especially with his cone hitting my face every time he moved. He seems to think that his place is on my pillow in the center of my bed (see below). I guess you can call him my warm body since I pretty much spoon him. He needs to find a different spot to sleep, and I need to find something different to spoon.
